Well, I must say that the season finale was one of the biggest let down’s this year. It seemed to be a hodge-podge recap of the current situation. Though one of the things I enjoyed the most was that they finally put a date into the mix, when they posted on screen that on April 10th, 2010 Jamie had to go back to Huntington, WV to yell at some people about the milk issue. So at least there was some idea of a time line and the whole show seemed much more relevant.
One thing that was really missing was an update about the whole family that Jamie visited – you know, the one who’s freezer was literally packed completely full of frozen pizzas. I think that he casually mentioned in passing that the one kid who he taught to cook had lost 100 pounds, which is great, but I would have liked to hear more about the challenges that this family had, rather than what seemed to be an entire show where he whines about money, again…
It would have been interesting to see the before and after medical parameters of that family, e.g. Blood Pressure, cholesterol and weight to see if they had in fact made any changes, and if so, how they affected their overall health as a family.
By the end of the show I was really just left wondering what the heck was going on – but since I think this is a “Reality Show” that is actually real (unlike the other scripted crappy shows) perhaps even the producers and Jamie don’t even really know.
In any case I really think that they need another season finale, to replace the mess that this last episode was. They need to wrap up things in Huntington or at least leave us with a sense of hope and better things to come – and maybe a cliff hanger if possible.
Oh, the other thing that was annoying is this petition. The other impression I got was that the entire episode was just a commercial so that people would sign his petition. I think the petition is great and all, but I was just hoping for more I think.
