In Defense of Food

I’ve just started reading the book In Defense of Food, by Michael Pollan, and already I’m appalled. I’m only on page 24, and I’m appalled at the lies that have been systematically planted by the very governmental entities that are supposed to be telling us the TRUTH about what we should be eating. The book tells about the Sugar industry and that the USA recommended Daily allowance is 25% and the World Health Organization says 10%! Was this recommendation made by the best nutritional scientists? No! This percentage is the result of the Sugar lobby and what can only be the corrupt politicians who allowed this sort of nonsense to occur.

Are we so different than the rest of the world? I think not!

So far, I find myself nodding in agreement to almost every paragraph. My eyes are being opened.

Thought I’ve only read a few pages so far, this book is a must read for anyone who cares about what they eat.
I’m going to categorize this under Food Revolution because I think what Michael Pollan says has a lot of similarity to what Jamie Oliver says as far as eating “real” food.
