Best Smoked Ranch Potatoes

  • 6 Russet potatoes
  • 1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning packet
  • 1/2 to 1 cup milk. Depending on how creamy you like your potatoes. We use 2% but any type is fine.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • salt & pepper to taste

Pre-heat smoker

Cover a cookie sheet with some cooking foil

Peel, wash, and dice your potatoes

Place potatoes on the foil, and put on the smoker for about 15 minutes

While potatoes are smoking I get a 6 quart sauce pot  full of water. Place on the oven on med-high heat to bring water to a boil, with a little bit of salt

After the potatoes are done smoking put them in the boiling water for another 15-20 minutes, or until the potato will slide right off the fork

Drain potatoes and put them in a mixer on medium, or use a hand mixer

Add sour cream, Hidden Valley Ranch packet, and salt & pepper. Slowly add in the milk until you reach the desired consistency
